The time capsule that lays under flesh and bone is an exploration of Algerian art through a time capsule, personal events, and various materials that have preserved identity, memory, and heritage across generations. This piece stems from a recurring interest in material culture and how even as modern fashion evolves, language gets lost in the fray in a world where migration from one’s homeland is becoming increasingly common. Particular attention was given to the roles of Tamazight language, silver jewelry, and textiles, examining how these objects function as carriers of memory and identity.
